Who We Are

The Futures Strategy Group LLC (FSG) was founded in July 2002 by Peter Kennedy, Charles Perrottet and Charles Thomas, who for many years had worked together at The Futures Group, Inc. Founded by the futurist Ted Gordon in 1971, The Futures Group was a pioneer in developing practical approaches to helping planners and strategists make successful decisions in the face of future uncertainty and change. Messrs. Kennedy, Perrottet and Thomas joined Deloitte Consulting in 1998, when Deloitte acquired the corporate consulting capabilities of The Futures Group. The founding of FSG four years later marked a return of sorts to these individuals’ “futures” and scenario planning roots.

FSG’s core offering remains scenario-based strategic planning, which the firm has applied successfully at some of the largest and most successful private and government enterprises, including IBM, Pfizer, 3M, NASA Aeronautics, the Panama Canal Authority, and the U.S. Coast Guard. In addition, FSG offers scenario planning and futures training; diagnostic tools to assess change readiness; technology forecasting processes; and techniques for evaluating long-term risks and opportunities in emerging markets.

The Futures Strategy Group is based in Glastonbury, CT, just a few miles from the birthplace of The Futures Group, the firm that originally inspired our work and brought this particular group of individuals together to start something new and exciting.
